Milltown Primary School was transformed into one big library.
Milltown held its always-popular Reading Night on Wednesday, March 4, when students and families toured the building to listen to staff members read and take in the colorful displays that spread throughout the hallways and rooms.
Gina Cocivera-Wright, Milltown’s School Library Media Specialist, coordinated a fun and eventful night of reading.
“Students and families returned to Milltown in the evening, wearing pajamas, to celebrate literacy as a community. Dr. (Matt) Lembo and teachers were reading stories throughout the building, sharing their own love of literature,’ Ms. Cocivera-Wright said.
She further discussed the evening's many highlights.
“Child-crafted decorations adorned our hallways for One Book One School, The Cricket in Times Square. The cafe was an amazing display of literacy projects. Our 4th Graders created box projects that focused on books featuring a city, cat, mouse, or cricket.”
“Our 3rd Graders built biography bottles and designed slide shows about the important person they chose. Second graders made book boards of a favorite fiction or nonfiction book to recommend to others.
Ms. Cocivera-Wright added:
“Throughout the evening, families had the opportunity to visit the book fair being held in our library. All of Milltown School was bustling with a love of literacy!
