Staff members who practice devotion and care daily throughout the Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District were honored when the Staff Recognition Reception was staged on Tuesday, May 6.
The annual affair, which is sponsored by the Bridgewater-Raritan Education Association (BREA), drew a crowd of an estimated 190, which included school district administrators, board of education members, school staff, and family and friends of the honorees, to the Somerville Elks Lodge.
The 22 honorees represented the 11 schools in the district—11 teachers were recognized as the Governor’s Educator of the Year, and 11 staff members were cited as the Governor’s Educational Services Professional.
Keri Phelps and Dr. Kristina Ferro were honored as the Governor’s Award winners at the Milltown Primary School for the 2024-2025 school year.
Ms. Phelps, who is a 4th Grade Teacher, is the Governor’s Educator of the Year honoree, while Dr. Ferro, the Milltown School Psychologist, is the recipient of the Governor’s Educational Service Professional Award.
