The Bridgewater-Raritan High School Unified Basketball Team had its season come to an end when it fell to Bloomfield High School, 37-33, in the state tournament's North sectional semifinal on Monday, March 9, in Bloomfield.
Bridgewater-Raritan enjoyed yet another winning season, finishing 8-4 this winter
As in the previous two years, Bridgewater-Raritan's season ended with a defeat in the state tournament semifinals. Bridgewater-Raritan posted a 7-3 record in each of the last two Unified Basketball seasons.
Bridgewater-Raritan was seeded fourth in the North sectional tournament, while Bloomfield ( 16-1) was the No. 1 seed.
Bloomfield will play third-seeded Union City High School (10-0) for the state sectional title on Thursday, March 12. The winner will play for the state championship at Rutgers University on Sunday, March 15.
Bridgewater-Raritan finished the season with an 8-4 record.
High School’s Unified Basketball Team advanced in the North sectional state tournament when it defeated fifth-seeded Sparta High School, 44-35, on Thursday, March 5, at Bridgewater-Raritan High School’s Vaughn Stapleton Gymnasium.
Bridgewater-Raritan, which improved to 8-3, has moved on to the North sectional semifinals and will play top-seeded Bloomfield High School (15-1) on Monday, March 9, in Bloomfield.
The other North sectional semifinal pits third-seeded Union City High School (9-0) against seventh-seeded Hunterdon Central Regional High School (7-2).
The North sectional final is set for Thursday, March 12. The state championship game will be played on Sunday, March 15, at Rutgers University.
