The undefeated season for the Bridgewater-Raritan High School boys' basketball team came to an end on Thursday, January 8.
A dominating second period by Immaculata High School led to a 64-57 victory for the school from Somerville before an energetic crowd at Bridgewater-Raritan High School’s Vaughn Stapleton Gymnasium.
Immaculata outscored Bridgewater-Raritan 17-2 in the second period to gain a 31-22 lead at the half. Immacula held on to a lead for the remainder of the game to improve to 5-2. Riley Gorman scored 26 points to pace Immaculata.
Bridgewater-Raritan, which fell to 8-1, was led by Joe Chien, who connected for 15 points, and Richie Gardner and Tayler Hamby, who each scored 10 in the defeat.
Bridgewater-Raritan will seek to rebound from the setback when it plays South Plainfield High School at 5 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, at Bound Brook High School.
