Alexander Abolenskiy delivered a goal and an assist and Justin Madison pitched the shutout when the Bridgewater-Raritan High School ice hockey team, ranked 10th in the state, edged Ridge High School, 2-0, on Wednesday night, January 7, at the Bridgewater Sports Arena.
The game was scoreless until the third period, when Stanley Xenakis scored off assists from Abolenskiy and Jason Kramer.
Abolenskiy iced the victory for Bridgewater-Raritan (9-1-1) when he connected on an empty-net goal later in the third period. Madison stopped 23 shots to earn the shutout victory.
Ridge fell to 5-6.
