BRHS Senior Night in volleyball

Two springs ago, Bridgewater-Raritan High School senior Cam Williams was a member of the Hillsborough High School boys’ volleyball squad: one of the Panthers’ chief rivals in the Skyland Conference, Delaware Division.

On Monday night, May 5, he was recognized with classmates Harry Fromberg, Vihaan Pradhan, Corey Amerman, Aaryan Arvind, Akhil Dhuvoor, and DJ Robinson as the Panthers’ graduating members of the senior Class of 2025 prior to their matchup against East Brunswick High School.

Now a captain for Bridgewater-Raritan, it was only fitting that Williams tallied the match-winning point on Senior Night.

With his team absent the services of both Fromberg and Pradhan for the match, and falling behind by six points early in game two against East Brunswick (6-13), Williams (eight kills, two blocks, three digs) fueled a set-two comeback for Bridgewater-Raritan (12-7), which saw Dhuvoor collect two digs off of the bench late to keep the game-tying point for the Panthers.

This two-point swing led to overtime, with the visiting Bears trying to extend the match to a decisive third set, but a point by Amerman (five kills, one ace, eight digs) led to the walk-off block by Williams to seal an exciting 2-0 (25-19, 27-25) victory for Bridgewater-Raritanat Vaughn Stapleton Gymnasium in Bridgewater.

“It was a little rough coming into it,” Williams shared after the match about the moments leadingto the Panthers’ late rally. “We spent a lot of time trying to side out and getting stuck in certain rotations that were unfavorable to us, but I honestly think that we came together as a team energy-wise.”

“That really helped us pull through set one and set two, and that’s what ultimately helped us win.”
