Lead to unite at BRHS

The leadership qualities of 120 Bridgewater-Raritan High School students were enhanced during an all-day training program held on Friday, September 19.

These Bridgewater-Raritan students all had one thing in common–each held various leadership positions throughout the high school.

And they all gathered in the high school’s main cafeteria and small gymnasium to be educated on how they can share and embellish their leadership roles.

They participated in the Ignite 2 Unite program, a leadership training session that was sponsored and directed by Jessica Kaiser, who is Bridgewater-Raritan High School’s dedicated College and Career Counselor/AP Coordinator.

Ms. Kaiser explained this mission.

“It is an all-day interactive training geared towards students who already hold leadership positions - Bridgewater-Raritan Ambassadors, Hope Squad, Presidents of Clubs, Student Council, and Class Councils,” she stated. “There are 120 students participating, along with 10 faculty. The goal is to empower our leaders to build connections and create community around the high school.”

According to its website, Ignite 2 Unite was established in 2021 by Jason Jedamski out of the need to meet school culture facilitation and speaking requests from schools across North America.

Mr. Jedamski was in person at Bridgewater-Raritan High School on this day, and he produced the program. to these 120 students.

He reported that he delivers about “100 presentations a year to schools and his organization does about 300.”

“My goals are to try to get the students they have the ability to make their school better if they work together and to give them the tools and skills to make their school better,” Mr. Jedamski revealed.

Paritosh Bhole, a senior who serves as an Editor-In-Chief for The Prowler, the high school’s student news service, was a participant who gained valuable lessons.

“This was a truly great event that will help with the culture of the high school and a reason to celebrate what is going on at our school,” Partisoth said. “This gave us the ability to work together.”

Angela Zhou, a senior who is the Vice President of the Student Council, responded that she will practice the wisdom that she obtained during the session.

“This helps start the new year on a positive note. This gave us a chance to meet other community leaders and help improve our community,” Angela said.

“There is power in groups,” Mr. Jedamski concluded.
