Sophia Kelleher is a perfect student to represent Bridgewater-Raritan High School.

In fact, you can call her an ambassador.

A BigFuture Ambassador that is.

Sophia, a junior at Bridgewater-Raritan High School, was selected into the BigFuture Ambassador program for the fall of 2025.

According to BigFuture, which is a free online platform and suite of tools from the College Board, it is designed to help students plan for life after high school by providing resources for career exploration, college planning and paying for college.

All high school students throughout the country are eligible to apply for this ambassador program.

As a BigFuture Ambassador, Sophia reported that she is asked to perform the following duties:

1-Collaborate with other Ambassadors from across the United States via social media to share BigFuture's resources.

2-Talk to students at Bridgewater-Raritan High School about BigFuture and assist with college and career planning.

3- Give feedback to the College Board about what students might need from BigFuture.

Sophia, who easily fits into the role of achieving those tasks. explained why she applied to become a BigFuture Ambassador.

“When I was a freshman in high school, I wanted to pursue music and theater, and I did a lot of research on college applications,” Sophia revealed.”I gained a lot of knowledge to find my best fit, and I figured I can then help someone do the same.”

Sophia was alerted to the opportunity to apply through an email that she received.

Xavier Brooks, who is Sophia’s guidance counselor at the high school, explained that Bridgewater-Raritan High School students receive this type of email due to the connection the school has with the College Board, a non-profit membership organization dedicated to helping students succeed in their path from high school to college and career by providing programs, tests, and resources.

Sophia remains involved in Bridgewater-Raritan High School’s Theatre Arts program and is a member of the Thespian Honor Society Troupe No. 5154.

But she is planning to study Political Science as a major after she graduates from high school in June of 2027.

“Sophia is an overall great person and she is the right choice to represent our school,” Mr. Brooks said. “She connects with others easily, so I feel she will do great as an ambassador to support our community of students who are looking to further their education."
