The School District budget for the 2025/26 school year was approved by the Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District Board of Education on Tuesday evening, April 29.
The adopted budget includes a 2.49% increase in the tax levy for 2025/26, as the Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District will utilize an additional $800,000 from the healthcare waiver, allowing the district to raise taxes over the two percent cap.
The 2.49% increase represents one of the lowest tax increases in Somerset County.
This budget preserves critical programs and keeps the district on track for the opening of full-day kindergarten in September 2026.
The vote was 7-1 with one abstention.
