Special Education Parent Advisory Group

A Special Education Parent Advisory Group (SEPAG) is a state-recognized committee that provides input to a local school district on matters affecting students with disabilities and their families. In New Jersey, SEPAGs are established in accordance with state regulations (N.J.A.C. 6A:14) to advise the district on policies, programs, practices, and services related to special education. The group serves as a collaborative forum where parents, caregivers, district staff, and community members can share feedback, identify areas for improvement, and work together to enhance educational opportunities and outcomes for students with disabilities.

The mission of the Bridgewater-Raritan SEPAG is to foster a supportive, inclusive and collaborative community for families with special needs within our school district. By bolstering the partnership between parents and district administration, we strive to ensure that every child is supported, valued, and given the opportunity to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. We aim to serve as a trusted resource and meeting place for parents, a constructive voice between families and school leadership, and a catalyst for programs, events, and initiatives that enrich the lives of students with special needs and their families.

Parent Representatives

Parent leads are volunteers from each school in the district who serve as a friendly point of contact for families. They are there to connect with parents of children receiving services and offer support or share experiences on special education topics. There can be 2 leads per school. If you are interested in volunteering, please email SEPAG.BR.NJ@gmail.com
