BRRSD Families and Community Members,
While the initial rush of liftoff may have begun to ease, we are still gaining altitude. The system is not perfect and questions remain unanswered. Yet, we delivered hundreds of needed meals, provided almost 200 more devices, and began connecting homes to the internet.
John Glenn remarked as he hurtled through outer space, “I don't know what you could say about a day in which you have seen four beautiful sunsets.” Like Glenn, I marvel at all that we have seen in one day.
Teachers and students communicated in new ways. Students found new ways to be independent, responsible, creative, and supportive of each other. Discussions happened, music and art were made, questions were asked and answered, and new interests were piqued. And we are still rising. There is so much more to come.
Glenn further stated, “We are more fulfilled when we are involved in something bigger than ourselves.” It strikes me that our distance learning experiment is pulling us together in new and incredible ways. It requires more of us than just a focus on ourselves. And it is doing the same for our students.
With only two days behind us and more to come, we have to remain focused, positive, and determined.
